Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced SQL Developer to join our technology team in Ahmedabad. The ideal candidate will have 4–8 years of hands-on experience in SQL development, database programming, query optimization, stored procedures, database performance tuning, and data management.

The candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining database solutions, writing complex SQL queries, optimizing database performance, supporting application teams, and ensuring data accuracy and integrity.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design, develop, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, and database objects.
2. Develop efficient and scalable database solutions based on business and application requirements.
3. Write complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
4. Optimize SQL queries and database performance for large datasets.
5. Perform database performance tuning and identify bottlenecks.
6. Create and maintain indexes, tables, views, triggers, stored procedures, and functions.
7. Analyze execution plans and improve query performance.
8. Troubleshoot database-related issues and provide timely resolutions.
9. Work closely with application developers, business analysts, QA teams, and other technical teams.
10. Develop and maintain data validation and data integrity processes.
11. Support data migration, integration, and transformation activities.
12. Perform database testing and validate data accuracy.
13. Monitor database performance and identify potential issues proactively.
14. Participate in database design, development, deployment, and maintenance activities.
15. Prepare technical documentation related to database structures, processes, and solutions.
16. Ensure database security, reliability, availability, and performance.
17. Participate in code reviews and follow database development best practices.
18. Assist in production support and resolve database-related incidents.
19. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Required Skills

1. Strong hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases.
2. Excellent knowledge of complex SQL queries and query optimization.
3. Strong understanding of Stored Procedures, Functions, Views, Triggers, and Cursors.
4. Good knowledge of database design and normalization.
5. Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
6. Strong understanding of joins, subqueries, CTEs, temporary tables, and window functions.
7. Experience working with large datasets and complex data structures.
8. Knowledge of indexing and execution plans.
9. Good understanding of database security and data integrity.
10. Experience with data migration and ETL processes.
11. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
12. Good debugging and troubleshooting abilities.
13. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

Education

1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
2. B.E./B.Tech/MCA/M.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent qualification preferred.

Experience

1. 4 to 8 years of relevant experience in SQL/database development.
2. Candidates should have strong hands-on experience in writing and optimizing SQL queries.
3. Experience in enterprise application/database environments will be an advantage.
