Job Overview

U.S. Bank is looking for an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer with 8+ years of experience to design, implement, manage, and optimize secure and highly available cloud infrastructure.

The role involves working on cloud architecture, automation, DevOps, infrastructure modernization, security, monitoring, and cloud migration. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with enterprise-scale environments and collaborating with engineering, security, application, and architecture teams.

1. Design and implement highly available, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure.
2. Manage and optimize AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud environments.
3. Lead cloud migration, modernization, and infrastructure transformation initiatives.
4. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure deployments.
5. Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
6. Manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
7. Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and operational processes.
8. Implement cloud security, IAM, encryption, and access-control practices.
9. Monitor cloud infrastructure and resolve complex production issues.
10. Implement logging, alerting, performance monitoring, and observability solutions.
11. Optimize cloud resources for performance, reliability, scalability, and cost.
12. Design and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
13. Collaborate with DevOps, application development, cybersecurity, networking, and architecture teams.
14. Perform root-cause analysis for infrastructure and application issues.
15. Establish and maintain cloud engineering standards and technical documentation.
16. Mentor junior and mid-level Cloud/DevOps engineers.
17. Ensure cloud solutions comply with enterprise security and governance requirements.

1. 8+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, or related technology roles.
2. Strong hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
3. Proven experience designing and managing enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure.
4. Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, IAM, and governance.
5. Hands-on experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent IaC tools.
6. Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
7. Experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines.
8. Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Shell, or PowerShell.
9. Experience with cloud monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability.
10. Knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
11. Experience with cloud migration and modernization programs.
12. Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilities.
13. Experience working in large enterprise or regulated environments is preferred.
14. Financial services or banking technology experience is an advantage.
15. Ability to mentor engineers and provide technical guidance.
16. Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Qualification

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
2. 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
3. AWS, Azure, or GCP professional-level certification is preferred.
4. Relevant Kubernetes, Terraform, DevOps, or security certifications are an added advantage.
5. Strong understanding of enterprise cloud architecture and infrastructure management.
